Ceanothus
Common name: Californian lilac
A mature Ceanothus in full flower is an impressive sight, whether clothed in characteristic blue, or the more unusual pink or white. These deciduous or evergreen shrubs look particularly good grown or trained against a sunny, sheltered wall, but can also be used as border plants, informal hedges and ground cover.
